Stainless steel pipes and tubes are a type of hollow, long, circular steel product, widely used in the petroleum, chemical, medical, food and light industries, as well as in machinery and instrumentation, for industrial conveyance and mechanical structural components. Furthermore, as it offers good bending and torsional strength whilst being lightweight, it is also widely used in the manufacture of mechanical parts and engineering structures. It is also commonly used for furniture, kitchenware and similar items.
Steel is an alloy of iron and carbon. Stainless steels are steels containing at least 10.5% chromium, less than 1.2% carbon and other alloying elements. The corrosion resistance and mechanical properties of stainless steel can be further enhanced by adding other elements, such as nickel, molybdenum, titanium, niobium and manganese.
